So, I decided I wanted to start using the crock pot more. After posting about it, many people suggested the liners. I got the Reynolds Slow Cooker liners. Well, I'm not sure what I did wrong, but this is what I got....
It basically ballooned and made everything come up to the top. It's a good thing we noticed right as we were about to leave the house. It was about to come out the sides.
After tweeting about it, most people said this had never happened, so maybe it was a fluke. I had two cans of broth, a roast, carrots and potatoes in. We ended up just removing the liner and continuing to cook. It turned out great.
I will give the liners another shot and hope for better luck next time!

That is the weirdest thing! I've been using the liners for years and I've never experienced that ... in fact, I'm kind of obsessed with them. It makes for SUCH easy clean-up. Maybe it was just a fluke?
ReplyDeleteDid you tuck the sides of the liner in between the layers of the crockpot? Maybe it wasn't tucked in there good and some air got under it? I've never had that happen! Definitely try again...they're wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I've never seen that happen before! Hope it works better next time, they make clean up super simple!
ReplyDeleteWow thanks for posting this- I'd never heard of crock pot liners. Now I'll use it more than once a year!
ReplyDeleteI love my crock-pot and have never used liners before! I find that what I cook easily wipes out with soap and water! Better luck next time!

ReplyDeleteHow strange. It's good you caught it when you did. I'd contact the manufacturer for an explanation. This is my first visit to your blog, so I took some time to browse through your earlier posts. I'm so glad I did that. I really like the food and recipes you share with your readers and I'll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
